Talking HIV: Young and positive in Malawi

04 October 2017

In the second instalment of our Talking HIV series we hear from Favour and Jimmy about what life is like when you're young and positive.

Have you ever wondered what it's really like to be young and living with HIV? What struggles and stigma might you face? How would family, friends and your community react?

We’re back in Malawi for the second instalment of our Talking HIV series to hear from Favour and Jimmy who are both 19 and have been living with HIV since they were children. Interviewed by journalist Alice Msangambe, Favour and Jimmy reveal in this intimate chat what it’s really like being young and positive as they share their personal struggles and how they’ve overcome them.

Do you have any advice for a young person coming to terms with living with HIV? Could you share a personal experience that might help someone who finds themselves in this situation?

Whether you are living with HIV, have been affected by it in some other way, or just have something to contribute, we’d love to hear what you have to say.

You can leave a comment below or comment on our Facebook page. If you have a longer story you’d like to share – or maybe you’d like to record your own Talking HIV – you can get in touch here.
