South Africa has the biggest HIV epidemic in the world, with 7.1 million people living with HIV. The country also has the world's largest ART programme, which is helping them to make significant progress towards the 90-90-90 targets.

Malawi has made impressive progress in its HIV response, and is close to reaching two of the 90-90-90 targets. In Malawi, 89% of people diagnosed with HIV are on antiretroviral treatment and 89% of those on treatment have achieved viral supression.
