Low levels of access to antiretroviral treatment remains an issue for people living with HIV, meaning that there are still many AIDS-related deaths in Nigeria.
India has the third largest HIV epidemic in the world, with 2.1 million people living with the virus. The HIV epidemic in India is concentrated among key affected populations such as sex workers.
UNAIDS launched their Fast-Track strategy in 2014 with the aim to end AIDs as a public health threat by 2030. To do this they have introduced key targets for prevention and treatment, known as the 90-90-90 targets, shown here.
