#HIVtimeline taster video
To mark our 30th anniversary we created an interactive #HIVtimeline for you to read, see, hear and explore how the response has changed over the past four decades of the HIV epidemic.
The HIV epidemic began with fear, helplessness and death as the world faced a new virus. But a lot has changed.
Scientific advances have enabled people living with HIV that have access to testing and treatment to live long and healthy lives. At the same time, advocacy and campaigning have raised awareness and understanding of what’s possible, and of the harmful cultural norms and severe inequalities around the world. However, accessing information to prevent HIV, and getting support and treatment to those living with HIV, is still a huge challenge in many parts of the world.
What can you do?
Visit our #HIVtimeline to:
- read, watch and hear about the events that have changed millions of lives
- investigate the data and what it means for people living around the world
- explore different themes
- learn about the unprecedented global response
- search and filter to find relevant information and content
- share interesting milestones and data with your networks, family and friends
...and then… spread the word with resources from our #HIVtimeline toolkit.
