I like some of the other stories I have read was born with HIV. I told that I had HIV a month after my 18th birthday, a few weeks before I left home for university in the US. My parents couldn't believe that I handled the situation so well the feared the worst, that I would be hysterical but I told them that I guess I always knew I just never really truly accepted. I was hoping I would be wrong. It's been almost 9 months since then and 8 since I started living on my own. Learning to take my medication on time, dealing with getting prescriptions, getting health insurance and seeking medical specialty advice have been part of my uphill battle with something that I never asked to have.

Men living with HIV
Ive been with my partner for nearly a year now & I knew he was HIV positive when I first got with him. We haven’t had sex yet only because I want to know a bit more about HIV. I’m going to start going to hospital appointments with him and be by his side. The thing I always worry about is maybe in a few years we would love to have children. I’ve heard of the sperm wash but I don’t know much about it.
I still remember that day. This handsome, young man came to me, and asked me if I wanted to have sex with him. He came close to me, and cuddle my head. Back then I was 18 years old, I did not know he was infected. He looked so cute and his appearance definitely fooled me. I hope my story will teach people to avoid having sex with others based on their appearance.
