Living with HIV/AIDS

I am a woman now pushing 70. I am white British middle class and heterosexual. I was 53 years old living in rural middle England when I was diagnosed.

I like some of the other stories I have read was born with HIV. I told that I had HIV a month after my 18th birthday, a few weeks before I left home for university in the US. My parents couldn't believe that I handled the situation so well the feared the worst, that I would be hysterical but I told them that I guess I always knew I just never really truly accepted. I was hoping I would be wrong. It's been almost 9 months since then and 8 since I started living on my own. Learning to take my medication on time, dealing with getting prescriptions, getting health insurance and seeking medical specialty advice have been part of my uphill battle with something that I never asked to have.

I am 33 years old and I have been living with HIV for 14 teen years. I found out when I was pregnant and had to take some test it was a dramatic result but I’m living a healthy life with 3 healthy negative children....

Im 19 years old and have been living with HIV for about 2 years. I would like to share my story so i can help others. I was 17 and in high school.

I'm an 18-year-old girl and I was diagnosed with HIV at 16. I was not born with it and I am still a virgin.... Recently, I have found a really nice guy and who asked me out, and I said yes. We have been going out for over a month and he knows I am a virgin so he is not pushing me to have sex until I am ready. What he doesn’t know is that I'm keeping this secret from him, and jeopardizing his health by doing so.

Today, I am a person living with many health issues. I am HIV positive. I have known for about three years now, I also live with high blood pressure, anxiety, and depression. I am also in recovery from thirty plus years of drug and alcohol abuse. I have been drug and alcohol free for five years. By utilizing the resources that are available to me, I have learned to deal with my issues head on.

I still remember that day. This handsome, young man came to me, and asked me if I wanted to have sex with him. He came close to me, and cuddle my head. Back then I was 18 years old, I did not know he was infected. He looked so cute and his appearance definitely fooled me. I hope my story will teach people to avoid having sex with others based on their appearance.

My fiance is living with HIV

I am a 21 year old female from the New Haven, CT and it's not me who has HIV, I've been dating a guy for three years now, and he is HIV positive. Today we are engaged and I am still happy with him. In the begining of our relationship, I didn't notice anything different about him, he just looked plain normal to me. I always knew that you couldn't tell a person has HIV just by looking at them, but still, I just though nothing of it. it nver crossed my mind. We've always used condoms and after a while, I started to get suspicious.
