Whether you hold a collection in your congregation, or organise an event, fundraising in your church will directly support our work to avert the spread of HIV/AIDS.
Since 1986, we've been working to improve the global response to the AIDS epidemic through providing better education, support and care. We make sure our services respond to the needs of local communities; which includes working with other church groups.
You'll have a direct impact on the future of our life-saving projects in sub-Saharan Africa, that work with orphans, vulnerable children, carers and people living with and affected by HIV and AIDS.You'll also help us continue to take education and information to over 30 million people around the world. Here are some ideas to get you started, but in the meantime, you can download or request a copy of our Community Fundraising Pack. It's packed full of all the information you need to plan a successful fundraiser for AVERT.
- Give something up for Lent: Walking instead of taking the bus, giving up chocolate or an hour of T.V...you could donate the money you save to us.
- Concert: Hold a concert at your church in aid of our charity.
- Collection at church: We can supply you with leaflets about our work as well as red ribbons for people to wear.
- Coffee morning: Sell coffee and cake or other delicious treats with the proceeds going to AVERT.
- Sponsored walk or cycle ride: Get sponsored to get fit and enjoy some local scenery.
- Choose AVERT as your 'charity of the year' and hold a range of events for us.

AVERT is able to assist with promotion and marketing and we can also supply you with lots of AVERT branded fundraising and event resources like red ribbons, badges, stickers, t-shirts and collection tins. We're asking church groups around the world to make a noise about AIDS.
- You could set up a music event and sell tickets with some proceeds going to AVERT, or pass a collection tin around the audience.
- Give people red ribbons, or AVERT stickers and badges in exchange for a donation
- AVERT can supply red ribbons, badges, leaflets about our work, stickers, t-shirts for your participants, adverts on our facebook page and fundraising material.
Music is a great way to bring people together and raise funds for AVERT's work. An estimated 34 million people are living with HIV/AIDS worldwide1 and need access to education, treatment and care. Please join us in making your support heard!
