If you would like to contribute your story then please feel free to email it to us at confidential@avert.org.
Working for AVERT
AVERT funds a number of projects overseas and staff for these projects are employed directly by the local organisations that run them. This means that we only publicly advertise for positions at our UK office in Horsham, West Sussex. New vacancies are posted on this page and on various UK job websites such as www.charityjob.co.uk
Although we do not normally offer positions on a voluntary basis we are always delighted to hear from people who want to help AVERT in any way. If you would like to volunteer and feel you have a particular skill or interest that could assist us then let us know by email and we shall reply as soon as we can. Please note this only applies to our UK office and not our overseas projects.
For more information about working in the field of HIV and AIDS have a look at our Work and careers page.
Funding for Projects
AVERT provides funding for HIV/AIDS projects in countries in sub-Saharan Africa and India. At present we particularly wish to provide more funding for HIV/AIDS work in South Africa, Zambia, Uganda, Lesotho, Malawi, and Swaziland.
If you wish to ask us for a grant then please email us at info@avert.org with an outline description of what you would like to do and what it will cost. The application needs to come from an organisation in Southern Africa.
Please note that we cannot provide funding for people attending conferences or training courses.
