HIV & AIDS videos
Videos are a great way to learn the basics about HIV and AIDS. They can also provide a window on how people around the world are affected by the AIDS epidemic, and what is being done to make things better. Here we present a selection of videos we filmed ourselves alongside favourites produced by other organisations.

AIDS treatment education through song
This video shows a community group learning about HIV-related treatment through song in Eastern Cape province, South Africa. Singing together is an excellent way of memorising important information about the various drugs against the opportunistic infections that affect people with HIV. Although the women sing in Xhosa, it is possible to make out the names of drugs including fluconazole, which is used to treat fungal infections.
AVERT supports this community group through the Sisonke Project.

A Survivor's Guide - Annabella's Story
This is the story of Annabella, a young girl living with HIV in Uganda, East Africa.
The film shows the dramatic benefits of anti-AIDS treatment, which has kept Annabella alive and healthy. It also highlights how interventions can prevent the transmission of HIV from mothers to their children. Tragically, both treatment and services to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV are still unavailable to most people who need them in Africa.

HIV replication 3D animation
HIV is the virus that causes AIDS. This computer-generated animation shows how HIV makes new copies of itself.
The process begins with HIV attaching to a human cell and getting inside. Next the virus' genetic material is integrated with the human genetic material. The cell is then primed to produce the building blocks of new HIV particles.
