Poster from the late 1980s designed by Gran Fury, an artist's collective which was a part of the AIDS organisation New York Act Up. At this time, the numbers of people becoming infected with HIV and dying from AIDS in New York were increasing, and Gran Fury wanted to make people aware of this in provocative, eye catching and sometimes quite shocking ways.
