Blood donation bus on a Chinese university campus

Since the mid 1990s, authorities have acted to improve the safety of China's blood supply by banning the most dangerous practices and closing illegal blood collection agencies. People are now asked to donate blood, rather than to sell it. As a result the Chinese blood donation system is now much safer.
