This is a picture of oral contraceptives. The combined oral contraceptive pill is one of the most effective reversible methods of contraception. If the pill is taken consistently, according to instructions, the chance of pregnancy occurring is practically zero. The oral contraceptives work against pregnancy but do not protect you from sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) or HIV/AIDS. If there are a risk of you STDs and HIV/AIDS, you should also use condoms. All oral contraceptives are medical products and they are currently supplied only on a doctor's prescription. The pill should be taken only after discussion and medical examination to exclude possible contradictions and the woman should return for regular check-ups.
